I think i recently titled one of my post "identity".. this is part 2 i guess!
When i reached home after church, i took a nap..
But in my head i was thinking many things till i didn't nap at all!
And somehow this thought came to me..and it made a lot of sense to me!
so i wanna share it with you guys :)
You know sometimes we like to judge ourselves or others how good/avg/bad a christian we/they are? or like this person is soooo holy, or i don't think i'm ready for this and that, etc
so how do we know who are the good, holy and ready Christians?
Is it because they spend a lot a lot of time reading the bible, they talk about God everywhere they go, they pray everyday, they serve in so many ministries, or they always have visions?
and who are the avg, bad, not ready Christians?
Is it because they don't do their quiet time, they are not regulars in church, they smoke, they are gays, they don't serve in any ministry, or they swear a lot?
But you know all i mentioned above and etc, are standards set by this world.
We are not holy because we don't spend time with God, or because we committed a huge sin etc
We judge others and ourselves on how a good and holy christian we are according to the standards set by this world!
E.g.
some of us we don't accept gay christian or gay churches, because we know being gay is a sin rite?
so we say they are not good christian, etc
but you see how many of us don't sin?
when we get angry, when we gossip, when we judge others, we already sinned!
So what make us (straight people) to be a "better" christian then gay Christians?
I'm not supporting gay or anything.. the point i wanna make is..
We shouldn't let the WORLD define who we are!
We should let GOD define who we TRULY are!
God said we are made holy and righteous!
God said we are his BELOVED child!
In His loving eyes, there are no good/avg/bad Christians!
All of us are "holy cows"! HAHA..
It is when we fully recognize who we are IN CHRIST, we will start to live that victorious life!
And when we are in that personal r/s with God, the HS will convict us of our righteousness, and we are empowered not to sin, and thus we will want to become more like Christ!
If we keep comparing ourselves to the standard set by this world (or the laws and practices)..its gonna be real Tough to reach the so called "holy" stage.. that's what i personally feel!
If i were to compare myself to the world's definition of what is holy and good christian..i will fall under avg or even bad category? how sad is that..
That is why we need to recognize God's grace upon our lives!
He have already made us pure, holy, and righteous!
He have sent all of us out to reach out to this world, not only the holy and good ones..he sent YOU!
so i just wanna encourage u guys that, know your rightful place and identity in Christ, and the rest will follow suit!
Don't let the standards set by this world stop you from doing great things for God!
You are who God says you are!
